Description
These mountains are silent witnesses to the imprints that history has drawn across their pathways and trails. Through these very passages the great hunters of Spain have passed. By the 14th century Alfonso XI had already been recorded as one of the first kings to hunt wild game in these mountains. The 20th century saw other state leaders such as Alfonso XIII, Francisco Franco and Juan Carlos I catch prized pieces of game in these mountains.

The practice of hunting evolved in this region without interruption until the start of the Spanish Civil War. The deer population was decimated during the difficult years that this event brought. Once the conflict ended, D. Enrique Mora-Figueroa began to modernize the estate.
Putting the proper measures in place, he successfully brought about the rapid repopulation of the deer. So, when in 1960 hunting was again legalized in Spain, the estate was already well prepared to lead the way towards the excellency in hunting that can be experienced today in Las Jarillas.
