The estate includes a totally rebuilt Cortijo farmhouse, comprising 500 sq mts with 8 double bedrooms, swimming pool, etc. in a very private and secure location. THE ESTATE
At about 1,400 m above sea level, the property enjoys an enviable climate, with plenty of sunshine but without the
extreme temperatures experienced by the lowest valleys and plains in the region.
Las Herrerías de Rio Madera offers the unique opportunity to acquire one of the few and exclusive wild areas left in
Europe.
The property has natural assets in abundance, with its own springs and well water supplies, with many kilometers of
forest tracks for walking, mountain biking and hiking between valleys and moun tains of unparalleled ecological value.
In addition to traditional crops such as fruit trees (pears, apples, cherries, plums, quince, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc.), there
is a project to cultivate black truffle, which is already exploited in some places of the Natural Park.
Activities such as horse riding, fishing,hiking, mountain biking, paragliding,etc. are some of the sports that can be
practiced regularly.
The area was declared by UNESCO in 1.986 Biosphere Reserve.
The Natural Park is home to a wide variety of species ranging from the tiny Violet of Cazorla to the wild Boar, Eagles,
Vulture, Ibex, Deer, Deer, among others.
Near the farm is carrying out the breeding and reproduction of one of the most protected birds, the vulture( Gypaetus
Barbatus ).
The authorities have catalogued 125 different species of birds in the Park, of which 26 are raptors and 30% of all the
flora of the Iberian Peninsula is found in the Park.
The Las Herrerías farm has 630 hectares and many kilometers of forest tracks to travel on foot, by bicycle, or motor
vehicle.
The closest town to the farmhouse Las Herrerías, is Segura de la Sierra, 25 minutes away, and there is a commercial
airport for private planes 150 km from the farm.
